Because it meets your criteria.

Kinda need more info.

Do you want to throw things? Hit things with an axe? Shoot fireballs? Turn into a bear? Jump around and kick people?

There aren't a lot of dedicated support classes - mostly just some bards and clerics but not necessarily all.

And all the classes are fun if you like their style

I personally experimented with all the classes before picking the one i liked best and continuing the story. I played all the classes on the ship (intro) and picked my fav after that. maybe you could try this too? my fav is paladin of revenge btw, solid class.

Bards are very funny even if not the most powerful class. I made a gyth bard and she was succeeding at most of the rolls.

lol They answered your question. Did you not like the answer?

I thought Sorcerer was fun. Being able to cast more than once per turn without Haste or a Potion of Speed. Choosing the Dragon heritage was interesting as well, adds a bit of flavor.

I put the same amount of effort into the answer that the OP put into asking the question.

Sorcerer! I think it is best to play the first time with high charisma and the Sorcerer can deal a good amount damage. Also twin spell haste on 2 melee characters is awesome.

I think it is possible to build a bard and Warlock as a melee character. This would be an alternative for a charisma character. But I can't tell much about the build.

A Paladin would be also a charisma option, but I am not sure if I would have much fun to handle the oath breaking.

Or play a low charisma character the first time and do the charisma one in a 2nd run.

I personally love playing Barbarians or Clerics, then multiclassing into a spell caster or a different fighter like the Fighter or Monk. Warlocks also are pretty fun to play and Sorcerers. Paladins are cool but if you don’t want to break your oath they might be a little tricky depending on the path you take. Wizards deal high damage but are also glass canons. You said no support so I wouldn’t recommend Bards, and I haven’t tried it in BG3 but Trickster Rogues are my go in in DnD.

Rogue:

- Can achieve social interaction even with low/moderate charisma score because of expertise
- Can spot and disable traps, as well as pick locks and steal stuff.
- They hit hard, and having double actions provides extra damage, positioning and similar ( drinking more potions, jumping more, hiding more, etc... )
- Being stealthy will allow you to proper position yourself before starting an encounter.
- You will be able to withdraw if needed ( 2x sprint and you are out of combat ), ready to revive your team.

You can rely on your starting team mates for everything else ( Fighter, wizard and cleric ).

I think the most fun thing in this game is a berserker barbarian who takes advantage of throwing and improvised weapons. You haven't lived until you pick up a goblin as a weapon and hit another goblin with it.
