8 months, still no remote play together
So months have passed, plenty of patches, console versions had been released too. PCs version of local split screen coop is there yet because of set up in the store, remote play together is not available.

I was thinking about showing bg3 to my gf as a candidate for next game we will play together, but without remote play together it would be close to impossible. (game for tens of hours, seeing each other in person maybe twice a week, would take months to finish campaign)
Does anyone knows workarounds for that or we just rely on waiting indefinitely for Larian to fix tags?

So you are hoping for crossplay, because online coop has been possible from the beginning... If both have PC?

No, as stated in title and text, I'm hoping for 'remote play together', same feature they have enabled for steam version of Divinity 2.

Just use steam family sharing....

1. would that allow launching 2 instances? I doubt that
2. i need 'remote play together' so game is rendered on my pc and final video is being sent to person I want to play with, as her PC is too weak to render game itself.

that is some solution. That would require using steam id of other game, one that supports remote play together, right?

I played this game with my remote friends on launch week thanks to the magic of setting up a multiplayer game with them

I might be missing something, could you clarify how playing via online coop session is related to remote play together?
Or you simply completely ignored subject of my question and instead you've decided to share your unrelated history noone asked about?

I'm suggesting that considering BG3 is a massive success, I doubt Larian "forgot" to fix anything but are rather expecting people to buy a copy each for playing multiplayer and remote play won't become a thing any time soon, if ever

1. If you compare steam pages for bg3 and dos2, you will notice that page for bg3 is quite poor regarding functionalities. Plenty of functionalities available in game are not listed while they are listed for dos2.
2. While larian might have incentive to delay remote play together going live, Im not that sure it's the case because:
A) larian tries to be "the good guys" by selling full product, good price, no micro transactions. Intentionally blocking this feature doesn't fit the picture
B) i doubt that having this feature live would have any visible impact on sells. It's rather niche.
In my case, regardless of this function is availability, there is 0 chance that person, I would like to play with, would buy bg3 (due to hardware limitation). So there is no "profit lost" by enabling this function

Firstly, I'm not sure what you think that indicates or implies.

2) rather they have no particular incentive to worry or hurry about it. Maybe it'll come with DE

C: You doubt that having this feature would affect sales? I'm not even sure what you're trying to say here, but it's not exactly an argument for it. I also do not think it would impact sales to any meaningful degree, but I don't run a game development company.

4$: what kind of crazy bulletpoint system are we using here? ☺️

This is a feature that allows multiplayer games to be played using only one purchased license rather than two+ correct? I'm not sure why any game publisher would want that, but I guess it might be a draw to buy a game that wasn't otherwise selling.

For a game that *is* selling, and selling well, why would they want to undercut their own sales in that way?

Because they're "the good guys" apparently

They are a for-profit corporation, are they not?

You can be a good guy and still make a profit. In fact, often it actually helps. But I'm not sure why I would see any benefit to Larian for this.

You can play BG3 using GeForce Now regardless of your system's specifications.

As long as you're hosting the game and the save file is stored on your local machine, anyone using GeForce Now should be able to join using Direct Connect.
