New builds for Act 3 (?)
I am about to begin act 3 and my team will soon reach lvl 10.
My MC is full blade Warlock
Gayle Tempest Sorcerer with 1 Wiz dip
Shadowheart light Cleric with 1 rogue dip for perception / traps / lockpicking
Minthara 6 sword bard - 3 Pal

I’d like to try something slightly different in act 3.
My MC is quite fun… but I’m not convinced by her 2 « pact of blade » attacks with 1h (infernal rapier). Not that much dmg… Even with caustic ring, arcanic diadem, etc.
So I plan to respec:
Minthara as Pallock, with 1 SOR dip to fly after each victorious smite. 3 attacks at level 10 or 11 (according to the SOR dip), EB range and the precious hunger of Hadar that I’m totally addicted to !
Gayle as… Bard - Wiz (8-4). Everybody needs those juicy bardic inspirations and 7 wiz spells up to lvl 6 should grant great buffs or strong allies as elementals or globe of invulnerability…
Shadowheart… probably no change. I just hesitate to skip Light to Tempest, to make her even more « tanky » with her precious Spirit Guardians (?)

And, regarding my MC…
fisrt option, Sorlock 2-8 (and after that 2-9 and 1 Wiz dip). Classic. To get the best from… some famous robe, and to avoid any kind of boring time when the spells are exhausted (EB machine, when needed)
But then I would hesitate between Draconic (AC nearly as good as medium armor) or Tempest (fun and deadly water - lightening combo)…
And no way to get those lvl 6 spells.
second option, sorcadin 8-2 (then 9-2, with the same 1 Wiz dip). Not to create a smite machine… just to still have « something fun to do » when the spells are exhausted.
And to keep the level 6 spell
Any advice ?

I tend to choose the option 1 but to give up lvl 6 spells is cruel…
I probably will try again the full blade warlock at level 12… but between 10 and 11, I wanna taste something else

Well, I think the best thing to do is to wait for the first big fight and test the both options with that good old Withers 😉
I swear multiclassing just makes characters worse in like 99% of situations.

You mean pure sorc is always better than sorlock or sorcadin ?
I used to play a Sorc when I first tried the game during act 1 (until I started a new game when Minthare became recruitable…), and found it rather boring, as you didn’t have anything to do as soon as the fight became a little long.
That’s why I chose Warlock for the 2nd run. I really like it but I find that even with the arcane synergy gears, it’s quite meh when it comes to melee damages…
