Making the tents meaningless anyway
j/k
Tav needs a tent.
Oh wait, you don't - you hire a communal room and sniff La'zel's farts all night :)
Best sequel ever :/
The best stronghold in the game is not even a stronghold. It is the house in the temple district where you have to defeat the people who currently live in it. But you get the Celestial Fury and you get a room with about a dozen chests in it, which makes it easier to manage your inventory.
Strongholds, houses, bases, etc. in most games like this are usually just a place to stash your stuff. And often a way for the game to adjust the runaway economics by letting you sink your money into buying them.
Even stronghold building in AD&D and BECMI got boring fast. Except in Glantri....the political intrigue that could spring up there was breathtaking.
