As others have said, some feel children should be seen and not heard, but you can talk to these ones.

But I'm willing to tell you - and you can find it at BG3.Wiki - they are all adopted wards.

BTW, I'm sure at some point someone will accuse Larian of hating the traditional family because as a single mother (and worse yet, an ABSENTEE single mother, as her kids quite pointedly complain), she's raising all these adoptive kids.

In fact, on this forum, I'm downright sure it's happened.

Of course, I've always felt her kids should cut her some slack, I mean it's not like she up and left them behind in the city to go have a fling or go to Disney World, she was leading the Harpers against a great evil. OTOH, I can see why they are complaining she wasn't very communicative after leaving, nor left them behind very clear instructions on what to do in her absence. (She apparently wanted them to leave the city, but wasn't entirely clear on that to them.)

Doesn't Jaheira have one daughter with her deceased husband and the rest are adopted/wards?

They are all adopted. Check the WIki. Khalid died before Jaheira and him could have any bio children.

She is a Harper they heop in many ways. so adoption is a big deal to members who can do it

But yeah take her and talk with her kids its the most open she gets in the game
