Playing with PC user on a Mac and patch 6
I play bg3 with a PC user and patch 6 just came out, which isn't available for Mac yet. Instead of waiting, we wanted to just keep playing with patch 5 instead, but when the PC user goes to play, it wants him to update the game. Is there any way to do this without having to update the game to play? Thank you in advance!

PC user can run it from the exe file itself. (Tell them not to launch Steam at all)
Running straight from exe it will not try to do the update.
File can be found on their PC in this directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin

Will be turning off auto updates. My wife and I have the same issue being on two separate operating systems. What a headache...

Any success with keeping playing after the patch #6? I've got Mac, and my friends have PC's. I asked them to do exactly what you suggested: to run the .exe file without ruining Steam. It works. But when I host our multiplayer game - they cannot connect :( Ruining Steam after the start of the game didn't help either. How do you guys connect to the multiplayer game, could you please explain in more details?

incredibly cucked that they decided to release mac later. just delay the whole patch if one OS isn't ready

Or they could use the beta section to either release the newest patch so it can get tested and then wait with the full patch til mac is caught up.

OR

just put the older patch in the beta section
