Issues with Patch 6? Merchants having no gold, game taking longer to think, leaving dialog gets stuck more often
The games always had some issues most of them easy to ignore. But since patch 6 yesterday I've noticed a couple things. 1. First thing I noticed. All Merchants no longer have any gold for me. I have 0 mods installed. I purged them all and did a fresh install before starting honor mode and have had no problems until installing patch 6. Now in all my saves no merchants have any gold at all. The game is doing the long sitting and waiting like from launch when leaving dialog and probably most annoyingly when I leave dialog or a shop it just sits and sits sometimes for up to over a minute before it finally leaves or hands me back control.

Has anyone else been having these issues since the patch?

They don't have gold in the regular selling menu. If you change to the barter option, they do have gold. That was my modest observation.
Yeah these are common patch 6 issues sadly, and not even all of them.
Three (edit - 4) that I've seen talked about a lot are:

Lip synching in several scenes is broken.

If you kill any merchant your game breaks and you have to force it to close, you can't even save before you close it as saving doesn't work when this happens, nothing works.

Pick locking can crash the game.

(edit - Oh yeah and also the pain guy in the goblin camp doesn't hit you anymore so you can't get his buff either)

-
Patch 6 should be rolled back if they can't hotfix it soon.
Though I do wonder if the new patching method (where we had to have double the game's filesize available or uninstall the game and redownload the patched version) makes rolling anything back to before they did that more difficult.

I hope not. Thats a terrible idea

I think this is being caused by having the entire party inventory on the vendor screen at one time. With stuff in my bags, I have many hundreds of items the game now has to contend with instead of the relatively small number my main character is carrying.

This is one issue that is across all players and is not related to Mods in any way. Although using inventory Mods may actually make it worse. :/

I think Ironwu is onto something here. I have a lot of problems with the new buying/bartering UI even though I don't even have any mods installed that meddle with this part of the game.

What throws me, though, is that the game ran fine directly after patching but after a little bit more than a day *BAM* everything went haywire.

I also think that *maaaaaybeeee* this has to do with inventory management as a whole - especially the new bits that got added/reworked in patch 6.
I am using a mod that circumvents the encumbered mechanic because I have no time for being forced to play *that* particular time consuming unfun minigame ( inventory management ).

They have gold if you wait to interact. Bring up their menu and just wait. Don't do anything a minute or so.

Ah, I see. And here I was wondering how I could find the time to solve crossword puzzles on the side while playing BG3... ;) /end snark

I was told this by others and tested it, waited upwards of 10 minutes still nothing

I have 0 mods installed. So it is not an issue created by mods. Stated this in the original post at the very top

In my experience the merchants will have gold available if you just wait a bit. It's like the game is taking a while to detect their cash or something. This game seems to have a broader issue with hangups like that.

Not game-breaking, but definitely frustrating.

A surprising number people are giving feedback on vanilla issues with patch and you keep saying "It's fine on my side, stop using mods." You keep jumping to the wrong conclusions assuming you're in the right when they put in their post information that nulls your comment. Please stop giving answers at this point otherwise you're going to confuse people and spread false information.

I killed the Paladins of Tyr (one of which is a merchant) and nothing happened. I killed the Goblin Camp merchant and nothing happened. Everyone you can trade with is technically a merchant. No crashes when they die.

I've been picking locks all day, and nothing happened.

All the YouTube people are still making videos showing off Patch 6 Trader changes, seemingly without instantly crashing. 100,000+ people are still in-game, somehow.

Good chance it's your mods, folks. Just like it is with every game, after every patch update.

Out of all the bugs listed on the discussions page, including this one, I have had zero of them.
I have never installed mods, maybe is why. Even if you had them and disabled them I hear that can still effect the game.

Also maybe certain difficulty levels are having bugs while other ones aren't. *shrug*

Anyway my new game since the newest patch is on balanced.
No issues with trading (barter or regular trade), no issues about sending items to camp or party members. No random crashes. No issues lockpicking, all merchants I have went to have had gold, etc.

The only thing I "think" may have happened is fighting the Ogres, seemed like I only got XP for killing Lump and no XP for Chock or Fank. I may have and just didn't notice the XP appear over our heads.

TLDR version,
When asking about if others have same bug as you may be helpful if everyone posted if they have ever runs mods at all, if currently disabled or removed, and what difficulty setting they are running BG3 on.

May help narrow down the issues.

Just sayin. :)
