Three (edit - 4) that I've seen talked about a lot are:
Lip synching in several scenes is broken.
If you kill any merchant your game breaks and you have to force it to close, you can't even save before you close it as saving doesn't work when this happens, nothing works.
Pick locking can crash the game.
(edit - Oh yeah and also the pain guy in the goblin camp doesn't hit you anymore so you can't get his buff either)
-
Patch 6 should be rolled back if they can't hotfix it soon.
Though I do wonder if the new patching method (where we had to have double the game's filesize available or uninstall the game and redownload the patched version) makes rolling anything back to before they did that more difficult.
I hope not. Thats a terrible idea
This is one issue that is across all players and is not related to Mods in any way. Although using inventory Mods may actually make it worse. :/
What throws me, though, is that the game ran fine directly after patching but after a little bit more than a day *BAM* everything went haywire.
I also think that *maaaaaybeeee* this has to do with inventory management as a whole - especially the new bits that got added/reworked in patch 6.
I am using a mod that circumvents the encumbered mechanic because I have no time for being forced to play *that* particular time consuming unfun minigame ( inventory management ).
Ah, I see. And here I was wondering how I could find the time to solve crossword puzzles on the side while playing BG3... ;) /end snark
For mods related issues consult the mods authors.
I have 0 mods installed. So it is not an issue created by mods. Stated this in the original post at the very top
Not game-breaking, but definitely frustrating.
I killed the Paladins of Tyr (one of which is a merchant) and nothing happened. I killed the Goblin Camp merchant and nothing happened. Everyone you can trade with is technically a merchant. No crashes when they die.
I've been picking locks all day, and nothing happened.
All the YouTube people are still making videos showing off Patch 6 Trader changes, seemingly without instantly crashing. 100,000+ people are still in-game, somehow.
Good chance it's your mods, folks. Just like it is with every game, after every patch update.
I have never installed mods, maybe is why. Even if you had them and disabled them I hear that can still effect the game.
Also maybe certain difficulty levels are having bugs while other ones aren't. *shrug*
Anyway my new game since the newest patch is on balanced.
No issues with trading (barter or regular trade), no issues about sending items to camp or party members. No random crashes. No issues lockpicking, all merchants I have went to have had gold, etc.
The only thing I "think" may have happened is fighting the Ogres, seemed like I only got XP for killing Lump and no XP for Chock or Fank. I may have and just didn't notice the XP appear over our heads.
TLDR version,
When asking about if others have same bug as you may be helpful if everyone posted if they have ever runs mods at all, if currently disabled or removed, and what difficulty setting they are running BG3 on.
May help narrow down the issues.
Just sayin. :)
