If you want to lift it, do. Otherwise, don't.
What changes if you do is mainly related to Halsin's epilogue, iirc.
Experience points?
some players expect an item & xp every time they do stuff. Its a video game mentality, and its understandable. Sometimes, all you get in D&D is to say you did it or a warm fuzzy that you helped out (if you are nice).
Also nets you a nice experience chunk (though you can get a similar chunk while still being evil and keeping the shadowcurse up by letting Halsin go into the portal, killing the enemies until the last turn left, then by destroying the portal before he can get back lol).
Doesn't Halsin leave the party if you fail to lift the curse in Act II?
I didn't worry about the "time dump" on my first play through as i wanted to get the most out of the game!
I guess i shouldve clarified to include on ((additional)) play throughs.
Naturally I mean stuff with actual story to it, not "Greet every single random NPC in case they have a quest" sort of thing that one does on the first playthrough.
