game crashes when trying to lockpick after patch

yes, i do use mods. no nothing with skills.

i've been having the same problem, but not just with lockpicking. I have a save that everytime i try to lockpick a door the game just closes, but many other saves are just not even loading after patch 6 came out. I also thought it was because of the mods i had intalled, so i literally unistalled the game and downloaded it again to try it completely vanilla, but it still kept crashing. Also tried verifiyng game folders but nothing fixed it. looking for a solution since yesterday...

could you please send me your modlist? maybe you have just a few i have too. then i start new game and rush to first locked chest

If you have the mod Improved UI Assets, that turned out to be the culprit for me - just had to reinstall it with the latest update and I've had no more crashes since

Can confirm this was the culprit
Remember to install the required Assets file and not just the main file

The game still crashes when I lockpick even after reinstalling and updating mods....BUT the way around this is to have Karlach Unga Bunga Bash the chests.

I had this issue, if you have any mods installed make sure they are all updated, that seemed to fix my issue

I had this exact problem, I tried uninstalling and then updating IUI Assets, but nothing worked. Weirdly enough, downloading the up to date Better Inventory UI fixed it for me...

I've been around the block enough to know that modding any game that's being actively updated regularly isn't really worth the hassle. Come back in six months when updates have slowed down or stopped or you're just going to run into compatibility issues up the wazoo.

Best advice I can give really.
