The mods inflict the achievements?
Hi guys, I wanted to kindly ask if downloading mods were going to disable achievements :/.

Technically, yes.
However, the BG3SE enables(re-enables?) achievements for you.

Yup. But if you are going to use Mods, then why bother worrying about Achievements. They would be utterly meaningless in that case.

A popular D&D/BG3 you tube person 'beat' Honor Mode using 'just a few' Mods. I think he missed the point and was foolish to be 'proud' over that 'achievement'.

YMMV

Hmm, There is a video in my backlog that I haven't watched yet from a popular DnD YouTuber about beating honor mode...

The majority of the mods I use are just UI improvements and cosmetic stuff. No new classes/races/etc. No "cheat" mods. The only "kind of" game breaking mod I use is the auto loot mod, but after 800 hours of BG3, clicking all the boxes gets old.

I saw some interesting mods to install but I want to keep the achievements enabled because i’m still on my first run

May not be a popular opinion, but here's mine. I have zero interest in Honor Mode, and I don't care about achievements. Once I started using mods, achievements stopped happening. I think that's fine, you shouldn't keep getting them if you've enabled a god mode cheat mod, of course that makes sense. Now, at some places I've read that ALL mods disable achievements, so even cosmetic, dice skin, QoL, etc. mods do this. And then in other places folks say it's only gameplay mods. I'm not exactly sure how BG3 "detects" which type you're using, maybe some type of internal file ID - dunno? Or where it draws the exact line. Is better camera control a form of "cheating"? Anyway, as stated, there is a mod to re-enable achievements (seems to be deprecated) and people tend to recommend using Script Extender to do it instead.

Now here comes my MORE unpopular opinion. If Larian didn't want you to use mods in Honor Mode, they could have Honor Mode disable them or refuse to load saves containing them, but they didn't do that. Now if you use them, they would normally block the achievement you can get for finishing an Honor Mode run. Except, yes, this can be disabled.

I guess I'm getting to my point - do what you like - use them in Honor Mode if you want to - even the non cosmetic ones - I don't think Sven cares either, nor will he come to your house and take away your birthday. There's also various hacks and methods to get around its single save limitation -- again, I note their existence, your call if you want to use them.

There's already a mod to give people the golden dice for doing nothing at all. I make no judgements if you use that, nor care if you do, just pointing out its existence.
