Create or Destroy Water - No spell slot using version is gone?
The patch notes say the spell was "fixed", but it seemed to me like it was not a bug originally, but done on purpose: the free version did have a limited duration of 4 turns and a smaller radius compared to the normal casts that use a spell slot.

I liked it, was nice to clean up blood or grease from the ground, clean your characters or just spam it for fun. Compared to some other (ritual) spells it didn't even seem that useful or powerful to me either... Any idea why they nerfed it?

It was ridiculously op, you could double damage of any ice or electric attacks. So for 2 actions and 1 spell slot you could deal hundreds of damage... so yeah, it was pretty good.
There is still a staff that gives 1 use every short rest.

This is a spell you can also make a ritual spell right? So you can cast it as many times outside of combat as you want.

That is a key spell for my ICE wizard build. Especially since my ICE wizard can cast a spell that gives the party Ice prone immune for 10 turns in combat. A great CC spell when you freeze the entire battle field.

When i read "ridiculously OP" i think of several game breaking combat cheezes and quirks I discovered with friends mostly by accident (and we agreed not to use them so combat stays interesting). But fair enough, i guess causing vulnerability in AOE without a spell slot is strong.

Still think it could have been a ritual or something. (Yes, I know that means it could be pre-cast but if that's your strongest combat opener just go for it and have fun.)

Not after this patch, that's what i'm saying.

I was not aware of a spell that gives ice prone immunity. Mind telling me what it is?

I am curious, what *exactly* is the name and source of the 'Create or Destroy Water' spell that is (used to be) a Ritual?

Are you talking about the Storm Sorcerer variant?

That is one of four Ice spells that are part an Ice Wizard subclass (mod).

The summary of that spell is:
Shout_IceProne_Immune
data "Level" "2"
data "SpellSchool" "Transmutation"
data "SpellProperties" "ApplyStatus(ICE_PROTECTION_BUFF,100,10)"
data "AreaRadius" "12"
data "TargetConditions" "Ally()"

new entry "ICE_PROTECTION_BUFF"
type "StatusData"
data "StatusType" "BOOST"
data "Boosts" "StatusImmunity(PRONE_ICE)"

When you click the spell now it gives you the option to pick one of two icons, for create or for destroy (water). Before the patch there used to be a third, kinda weird option where the spell level was marked as 2 instead of 1, and there was no + sign to signify being able to upcast it. It cost no spell slots, only an action, but its radius was smaller than level 1, and duration was set to 2 turns.

Eh, not a huge loss as it's not a ritual in 5e RAW. There's enough bottles of water around anyway.

Ah okay, mods. Thanks for the info.

Yes, I saw that one as well. Wonder if Larian decided it was not proper to be a Ritual. Or maybe it is a bug. Hard to know for sure. :/

Did the icon for the spell ever have the 'Ritual' marker? If not, the original ability was probably the bug and it was never supposed to be a Ritual cast at all.

That was why they added the Sponge and soap. Both wash your bottom.

I'm not exactly a dnd5e expert but isn't bg3 running it's own homebrew version of dnd rules anyway? Looking up the rituals I use most in bg3, it doesn't seem like Jump and Feather Fall are ritual spells either in dnd5e, for starters.

There are a LOT of differences. Does not make BG3 bad or wrong. Stuff is streamlined and made 'safe' since there is no DM to mitigate bad choices or 'lead' the party with hints and such.

Looking at 5e rules, I am happy they changed what they changed. :)
