Just turning Mods off may not be sufficient.
Your Saves are probably all still there. Just not being displayed.
Don't Panic.
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story
You can check there to see if they are there. Back them up if they are.
I think I read something similar once, and yes the solution was to
The reason you want to back up your saves is that in some Mod corruption cases, the entire Larian Studios folder there will need to be deleted. Mods can change a number of files outside of themselves.
The Larian Studios folder in AppData is persistent across BG3 uninstall/reinstall cycles. And, unfortunately, that is where Mods live and work. So they and their changes persist as well.
The Sixth Sense 2
Mods can even change your Bitcoin wallet
There is a long and arduous process for deleting individual parts. But I think it is convoluted and easily done incompletely. Here is what I would do to recover:
* Turn BG3 Cloud Saves OFF
* Uninstall BG3
* Manually delete the Larian Studios folder in AppData
* Reinstall BG3
* Copy your Saves back into the Story folder
It is possible that the Saves themselves might be unusable. But it is worth a try and only takes a few minutes to check out. :)
i'm willing to give it a shot! thanks for all your help. i'll keep you in the loop if it solves the issue for me or not. hope your baldurs gate playthrough is lovely and you romance all the characters you desire :D
Thanks. I will stay tuned to this thread to see how it goes. I keep telling Withers I am happy alone, but he is not listening I think! :)
