update the new patch but the game crash

update the new patch,but when i open the game it just crash immediately , me and my friends both can't play it ,does anyone have same issue?

Did you try to do the Steam 'check for file consistency' thingy, where it checks your files for errors?

Make sure you've removed everything from BG3MM and from your data folder, any scripts or folders in the generated folder will result in a crash or you could just wait until script extender updates. It should run fine after that.

I just removed the bg3 script extender (specifically DWrite.dll ) and everything worked

Here a few questions, as it seems you have mods installed:
- when does the game crash? before reaching the main menu or when you are loading a savegame that previously had mods (it is of course obvious that these saves will crash)
- did you also remove any override mods
- did you also remove BG3 SE dll file in the game bin?

yeap, script extender is the culprit. so it and any mods that require it won't work and any save that uses a mod that requires it won't load.

Sorry for asking here, but after I removed the DWrite.dll, the game can work but I can't talk to anyone, include NPCs and my teammate. Did anyone also have this problems?
