patch 6. 103gb download size.

quite a big patch? when i started downloading it said around 19gb, now its loading 103gb

is this normal behaviour? :(

Its a major patch filled with lots of goodies. Its replacing a lot of files, you'll notice the download is like 17-19 but the overwriting/installing part is huge.

Yes, and no. They are downloading 20gb, that they use to patch the 100 game.

Here is my real issue with this: I think they completely rewrite the game, then delete the old version. Near the end of the update, my hard drive went from 300gb left to 200gb left... and when the update was over, it went back up to 300. This is 1) useless wear on the hard drive, and 2) that means you need at least 100gb spare to update the darn game...

You only need that much if you do it like that.

when do ppl learn the difference between download and datatransfer on a disk ppl explained it like 1 million times at this point ^^

Are you sure it is "downloading" 103Gb and not "Moving files"?

I downloaded the full game yesterday, launched it, did some settings and closed it to play with a friend today. Today the patch hit and it told me to download ~19gb. My internet is slow, so i decided to leech at university. I headed over there and now the download seems to be 103gb in size.

The first is the size of the download 17GB the second is the files that are being unpacked the whole PATCH IS 100GB big but the download is only 17GB sinze it is packed so don´t worry

Something is a bit messed up, once it downloads the patch, patches the whole game (never used any mods or altered anything out of game), then it starts updating the whole thing again. If you got a decent internet, it is faster to just uninstall and reinstall the game.

The number of times something is explained never equals the time that explanation is seen, heard or understood. People ask about something when they run into it. How many times that issue was previously explained to someone else has no bearing on them.
This is human nature, I recommend getting used to it over getting frustrated with it.
You too have- and will in future be asking things previously explained, maybe that helps.

It download's only 19GB. But in the download area of steam it additionally shows a much higher number. So it looks a little bit unusual, but is normal.
