BG3 needs to add micro transactions, NOW
They have to make hay while the sun shines. Who knows how long their success will continue? For all we know their next game flops hard and their employees will all be out on the street unless they do something now.
Micro transactions are an important part of helping a company extract more money from the richer section of the playerbase that can afford it anyway.

A. Example of an UNethical micro transaction:
1. $20 for a new companion with storyline and side quests to enjoy

B. Example of an ethical micro transaction:
1. $5 for a set of new clothes themed for halloween

Logically you can't possibly argue that this would be bad for the company. Yes I'm aware that there is a massive incentive to make it unethical and promote it and then it becomes annoying but that's their problem. Objectively there is nothing bad about option B when done tastefully and subdued.

Half of the reason why this game is so praised is that it's not a micro-transaction laden gatcha product. BG3 is great in it's own right but it became legendary when they refused to add the more common, disgustingly predatory business practices to it.

Adding them would turn Larian into just another company, instead of LARIAN!

I would pay for well execute and expansive DLC and I think that would be good for their image. Nickel and dime MT's... no place here.

Games with micro transactions are garage run by greedy companies with no talent in the gaming industry. Notice how all the old classic were amazing games without transactions? Now modern games are being ruined by greed and pay to win bs.

You gotta dream bigger, BG 3 doesn't need microtransactions

it needs MACROTRANSACTIONS

Want a new outfit for Karlach? $50,000

Don't have that much to spare? THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!

First of all, OP, shut your mouth.

Why? It's literally "Hey, what would this group not like? I'm gonna say it should be a thing!"

I literally gave you 100% factual arguments for why micro transactions are a good thing for the company. So do you like Larian? Then you should support micro transactions for BG3. Obviously I'm not advocating for tasteless, exploitative micro transactions. But there is a golden path where they can make more money while keeping the game good. In my opinion something like what Elder Scrolls does in their latest update is such an example. Modders can sell their mods and Larian could make a percentage off of the profits.

No microtransactions in BG3 is something that Larian boasts about... it was/is a selling point that they used.

“No, there are no in-game purchases in our game. We believe in providing a complete and immersive gaming experience without the need for additional purchases. Enjoy the game to its fullest without any additional costs or microtransactions.”Aug 5, 2023

I've bought the game.
I get the content.

I did not buy Act 1, 2 and 3 and if I want anything better than a basic +1 Dagger I need to dump another 20.00 of my respective currency to get it. This is never ethical, stop it.

Larian agrees with this general stance, troll OP.

Yeah it needs some kind of subscription too. Maybe a lil pay-to-play as well. And sweet juicy paid DLC as well.

Jokes aside.

Paid DLC would be fine.
