Is there any good loot in this game?!
Hi

i have been playing this game for the past 6 hours and i see no good loot when it comes to weapons and armor (Divinity had one of the best looting systems imo).

i know there's unique traits from necklaces and so on i found some but basic weapon and armor scaling is non existent

also almost all my attack are at 50-60% is that normal!

There really isn't much when it comes to gear.
Yes.

One of the best weapons in the game (for a martial character) can be obtained in the tutorial.

If all your attacks only have a 50-60% hit rate, you're doing something wrong.

Hard disagree there. My biggest problem with that game's itemization is how gear gets outdated the instant you level up. A level 12 common is better than a level 10 unique. Thankfully, there are mods to reduce the ridiculous number bloat so gear stays relevant for more than one level.

In my experience that was fun. you don't have to change every level but the lower it is the harder you'll get bodied. running around merchants and arranging my equipment every level was very enjoyable for me.

different tastes i guess.

To be fair that showcases the issue i have. you level up to 4 i think and a tutorial weapon is still viable and considered one of the best.

Ehhh, D&D is not really about super cool and strong loot. You,ll find some magical nonesense here and there but that's really it.

It's good to be in the know. i haven't played any BG before.
setting expectations is a must.

D&D is not an arpg where you get constant gear upgrades - there is very little of the gear treadmill.

Weapon and armor enchantments go up to +3 at end game, so it's quite probable we will only see +2 items in this game given the level cap.

D&D tends to be focused more on utility and roleplaying when it comes to magic items, with lots of items that grant abilities you cannot get from one of the player character classes, or items that give you a class feature or spell so you can use it on a character that normally doesn't have it or as an extra resource for one that does.

Yeah, definitely the wromg game for that. D&D tries to get you to have a relationship with your gear.

Yeah, there is 'some' good loot in the setting, but most of it are basic upgrades.
Some may come with a new skill, spell or other ability. But most of your good stuff comes from your class and it's associated features in D&D. Level 5 alone is a huge boost in power.
D&D also often has items that unlock additional powers as you adventure - I suspect Phalar Aluve is an item like this (may need to be Identified, or perhaps specific actions taken to 'awaken' certain abilities...until then it's just a +1 longsword).

These are some of my favorite items.

And then there's charged items - often wands or staves. They basically get a magazine of charges, but they recharge (a number rolled on a die) at dawn the next day unless you use their last charge, in which case they are gone forever.

Wondrous and Legendary artifacts are also really cool, as they tend to do the craziest stuff. I hope there's lots of these too.

A Deck of Many Things is a wonder to behold.

We've seen a few homebrew items from Larian, and so far I'm not a huge fan of them because they either introduce more gear progression like mechanics (lite), or new mechanics (Momentum, Lightning Charges, extra bonus actions, at 50% hp effects, and more) that don't really feel like they belong in a D&D game. You might like these items.
