Also without Spoilers, I will say that Jaheira is probably worth keeping around.
Kinda disappointing that the reactions system is so screwed
For the guards/ghouls in the front of the tower you can push them off the ledge. Bring your strongest characters (main character possibly, Karlach, frog girl) and just toss those SoBs off the ledge. Make SURE you close the front door before you do this so you don't have a chance at being spotted.
Once inside the tower go around and turn off all the lights. I brought Astarion for this part as his sneak attack is very useful. Again, close the doors before starting any fights. Use sneak attack, combos, build advantage, and kill people who aren't in the main chamber.
You can go down to the dock and just push all those guys off the dock into the water without killing them too. Same thing with the prison cellblock. For the rest of the prison you can go into the room with the questioners and turn off the lights, close the door, and murder them. Then go outside and murder the guards there too.
Once you get to the top floor by talking to General Whiplash you can do the same thing. Sneakily kill everyone you can, just don't go up to where the absolute is.
The main room right after the entrance and the throne room are a bit more difficult because they have alot of guards. You can just start the fight at this point as most of the guards will be dead and the ones that aren't will end grouped up and perfect for AoE which granny lady has in spades.
After looting I then decided to see what lay beyond the Ascendancy door beyond which was suppose to be the Absolute and proceeded to lay out everything there. It took a few rounds but the enemies I didn't kill in the first round were just undead so it didn't really matter. Then I cleared the ground floor and went into the throne room and then followed I forget her name, like Z'Krell or Activia or something and when she gave me a quest to find Balthazar I proceeded to pump her for information and then I killed her too..
Some areas had to be cleaned up again after the assembly let out, but that was piece of cake and when I finally did assault the Towers only one person was left waiting for me.
And you need her to recruit Minsc, such a huge character he makes even Karlach look small.
anyway
boom
that fight is a fight of atrition, the best way to win is just walk backwards and let the ennemies themsleves try to reach you with the curse killing them like the dumbasses they are. here, spoiled a way to chesse that fight for you.
It is baffling tho, the NPCs just suicide into things turn 1
