If she still follows Vlaakith and you choose either. You have to convince her, because that's what Zealots are like - they base their entire identity and life around a single ideal.

Lae'zel story spoilers under this, tread with care.
By obeying Vlaakith, you basically stunt Lae'zel's character growth. Taking the other path makes her see sense, her queen's faults, the world as it is from the eyes of everyone that's not a gith, and more. It's a lot better for her to have her turn on Vlaakith and it's absolutely worth it.
No go for me, I explain, I chose the other route than the underdark and Had to go through the whole Moontower stuff, after what Dammon is not to be found at the Last Light Inn, nobody is there in fact, even the guy on the bed for cleansing the land from shadows, he is dead so maybe a bug ? The quest is still in my journal though.
No idea he was near the inn for me and helped Karlach out was such an adorable scene
