Act 2 - explore or follow quests in order?
So there's a lot of extra places NE and NW in Act 2 that don't have any quest locations being know. Is it best to go straight for the towers, or go explore the other areas then come back? If you go straight for the main quest stuff immediately, does anything else get locked out? Trying to experience as much of the content in my first playthrough as I may not have much time for another playthrough with school/teaching starting soon.

there is a temple of shar in nw ( raphael gonna stand near entrance) - when you enter a final layer in there there will be a warning that its a point of no return sorta. So unntil then its better to explore everything, including the content you missed in act 1.

also when you visit moonrise tower i highly recommend you to kill as many as you can without triggerin alarm stealthy - will come in handy in the near future lol )))

Explore everything before the temple, including the tower (no boss fight, but some things can be done only before temple), then go to Shar. You cannot finish the tower without having solved the temple. You can go for the temple and do the tower and leave everything else behind, too.

Dont speak to Isobel until you do everything else.

I just explored everywhere, if a scene triggered then I'd reload and keep exploring elsewhere because visting new areas gets you XP.

If anything updated a quest in a bad way I reload. I mark the level of every encounter on the map. Once Ive explored everywhere then I pick the fights in order.

Basically experiment and save scum if youre not sure. Whenever a quest updartes double check the log and reload if you need.

All good advice, thanks.

You have to clear everything before you finish the Shar temple, otherwise you're locked out. And if you have tieflings/gnomes to save, do that first too. You can't, for some reason, save them during the siege.

So, explore. Clear the map. Then do what the story expects.

nah you can easily speak with isoble. although i was surprised how many people lost her in fight lol.

Only last layer of temple of shar locks all the content

You can do everything up to the final part of Shars Temple without affecting anything. So yeah, just explore and have fun. You can even go back into act 1 area to explore more. I did half of act 2 before talking to Laezels people and still got to do the whole mountain pass quest line. It's pretty open.
