Lea'zel for murdering everything in line of sight.
And then whoever companion quest i am doing.
Or gale.
Because 2 divination wizards with the lucky feat is powerful.
Karlach as a 9 Bersereker Barb & 3 Champion Fighter with Great Weapon, built around lower requirements to do crits. Doesn't get as many attacks as Lae but she hits like a truck.
Shadowheart Life Cleric for healing and the occasional fire cantrip or necromancer skill.
Wyll as a Warlock/Sorc/Fighter built around exchanging spell slots for sorcerer point to enable multiple attacks of cantrips.
Lae & Karlach dished out the pain for the most part, Wyll supporting them with the occasional fireball, knocking enemies off ledges with eldritch blast, and Shadowheart for healing when facing a lot of enemies.
Shadowheart (light cleric)
Karlach (barbarian/battlemaster)
Gale (evocation wizard)
Lea'zel - Fighter
Shadowheart - Healing and occasional spell support.
Astarian - for lock picking, trap disarming and plunking people from range.
This has been the main party almost all game.
bae'zel: fighter/battlemaster, ASIx2 , GWM (20-16-16-8-8-8)
karlach: barb/zerker , asi x2 (20-16-16-8-8-8)
shadowheart: cleric/light domain ASIx2 (15-10-14-17-20-12) using 17 int circlet
thats what i got so far. game is making me sleepy it's too easy ;)
when im done with it i'll start over with a pure solo (no party) evil playthrough. probably DU oath breaker or something. maybe rogue but ive done that a lot in EA so a change would be nice.
Gale (Barb)
Co-op (Sorc)
Shar (Cleric)
Mean girl - an eldritch knight who throws spears really hard.
Buff girl - a berserker who throws pikes really hard.
Emo girl - she just keeps Bless up and gives out band-aids.
Main character handles Sleigh of Hand, having a criminal background, Gloves of Thievery and Guidance.
Eldritch Knight doesn't have the intellect hat, since I never found it or misplaced it, the utility of the class comes from weapon bonding and sometimes casting Magic Missile to take out 4 small enemies at once.
Not really much thought or sweat behind the class choices, but it seems to work well enough. Cleric felt a bit underwhelming at first, but it's definitely getting there.
Karlach : wild magic barbarian.
Wyll : warlock fiend/blade, good with a rapier and eldritch blast.
Gale : transmuter wizard, heavy crowd controller and support.
Gale might be replaced by halsin or jaheira in the future.
Shadowheart: Tank and support magic user, also some AoE damage
Lae'zel: Second tank and main damage dealer, only knows killing but wow is she good at it
Gale: Swiss army knife, both super helpful during exploration and as debuffer in combat
Honestly I only used these characters because they were the only companions I had left at the end of act 1, but they actually worked out well in the end! I also really liked their character archs.
- Karlach (berseker) - for murdering everything, prime target of speed buff
- Gale (evocation) - for fireball and other elemental stuff. Also some situational spells when needed.
- Shadowheart - respecced her as light cleric (tank + damage + buffs + heals). Lost of undead or shadow stuff in ACT2. She wants to see the world BURN
for locks, I use Knock spell on Gale.
