I haven't progressed far through the story but now that I know about Gale's cat, I have to say that the critics have ground to stand on.

The alphabet soup crowd is in the wrong on this one. There's no excuse for surprise gay sex in a mainline Baldur's Gate title.

If this was a new IP and became known as the "gay RPG" it would be different, but this series has an existing fanbase which is mostly not gay and didn't want this.

This is a lot like ruining Marvel superheroes and oh no, now superhero films don't make lots of money anymore???

I can tell you this: I won't be buying another Larian title.
