What do I do in the Underdark?

Hi sorry if people have already answered some of my questions. I'm really confused with what I am to do from this point. I've been in the underdark for a good few hours now exploring. I have a side quest to get to the Cleric's Tower which I presume is the Arcane Tower? but I thought I was in the Underdark to pass to travel to Moonrise Tower, but there doesnt seem to be a way to the Moonrise Tower, can someone explain what I am to do please? I found an elevator (which does not work) but other then that there seems to be no escape. Thank you

For starters, I just ask two questions: Have you found the mushroom people and/or a place called grymforge?

mushroom town will have some quests and vendors for a start unless you killed them all before approaching them to talk lol

There is a way going south, it's a wooden bridge next to the camp in the middle.

The game's story is disjointed like that - run around, explore, the 'sidequests' only make sense after the fact. Think of it as a exploration game where more or less delightful 'events' happen while the game pretends to have a story - at least at that stage of the game.

Keep calm, carry on, kill everything that's not friendly.

Oh arcane tower is different from moon rise tower. There would be a boat in a village to continue.

Brill thank you for the help yes found the mushroom people got a quest to find clerics who may be able to help with the worm living inside me. I am on my way to gyrmforge now. I figured that is a way out. I do love this game but its confusing ha

You can't use the boat to reach the arcane tower, you have to use the bridge
