Do I Ever Get To Enter The City of Baldur's Gate

I really just want to see Baldur's Gate. Do I get to spend time there or does the game just end when I get there?

Yes. Act 3 takes place in the city.

After 100 hours in Act 1 and Act 2 (in Release), I have just now stepped foot in Baldur's Gate - the City. It's been a long journey, but I made it.

You didn't get to Baldur's Gate too fast in the original game either, so it's rather on point.

With that said, I imagined the game would give us a little more free roam using an over map to see regions and go to them, but that wasn't a thing sadly.

I just got into act three and am in riverside. Riverside doesn't count as Baldur's Gate, Right?

To be 100% correct, you have to find a way into the city, yes. You start at the outskirts of the city. If you go to a cliff, you can see Baldur's Gate up north.

To be completely honest, you don't get to see much of the city itself, you do enter the city, however, it isn't Baldur's Gate in all it's glory. You get to see a little bit of it though.

Yes, but you only get access to the lower city for the most part. It's still pretty dense for what it is but a little disappointing for me as I was hoping to see the upper city too.

They should have named them all "The Road to Balders Gate" or something a bit less teasing. I mean, I truly feel defrauded by the premise the Title presents. I dare say they don't have the guts to attempt coding the city itself. Hmf...nor the talent I'll wager. Yeah I said it. Prove me wrong.

You get city outskirts and lower city in ACT3.
Higher city is only accessible in the game’s finale.
That being said, what is there it is pretty big and full of content.

You get to see the part of baldurs gate they finished. The rest you just have to use your imagination.

Act 3 is a bloated mess anyway. Imagine how much worse it would be if they actually did build the Upper City and filled it up.
