Yes, Porno Jesus. They parry when you surprise attack someone out of combat in BG3.
(As in the mechanic is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, don't eat my head)
I did the fight and killed them 200xp each. But the melee dudes keep parrying my 1st attack each round, so i had to haste Karlach for 3 attacks per round cause 1st was always parried?
Is that a bug or is a feature for ginths warriors?
For me it were some of the gith fighters in their base in the old temple.
What annoyed me and made me post this thread, was a gith that was out of combat and surprised by my sneak attack that still parried my attack, preventing me from stealth killing him in one round.
He didn't get to act for a whole round, though, being surprised, and I'm pretty sure he parried in the surprise round as well, though I don't remember that exactly.
"You must be wielding a Greatsword, SEE THE ATTACKER, and you can't be incapacitated or Restrained."
They constantly parry when they can't see the attacker since I am sneaking and attack them out of combat.
Another thing I noticed is that a mage counterspelled me when I was hiding. My spell was countered, but I didn't leave hiding, so he still didn't know where I was even after he had counterspelled me. Counterspelling requires that you see the person you are countering.
Does it make sense? No. Would a Dungeon Master rule it that way? No way in hell.
Since the game has facing, they don't see you when you're behind them, though.
Best is to just lure em somewhere with a pit and throw em in.
