Gale forcibly romancing me??

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one having this issue - I'm romancing Astarion and agreed to go steady with him, and all of a sudden Gale is acting like I cheated on him, and confronted me about choosing him or Astarion?? I NEVER have Gale in my party, I just have him at high approval, I got the convo in the open world where he gets all hot and bothered and turned him down, then I turned him down AGAIN when he made me "choose", and tonight I just got what I presume is another romance scene with him where his mirror image tells you to meet up with him in a field?? I reloaded and skipped out on the scene and now he's all dejected again, but like damn dude I said no!

Anyway, is anyone else having a similar problem?? Thankfully my romance with Astarion doesn't seem to be affected, cause I would be pissed if it was.

Don't give him an "in". Hard pass that sweet magic talk even if he gives you a little negative opinion. He will still be in your party and will gain opinion back as you do "nice" actions.

Current theory running around is that Gale's rep meter can rise too fast and overried whatever romance flags were previously established. So if you turn him down but impress him too much he will 'forget' it and proposition you again. Seems very sloppy on Larian's part if true and super funny given how they wanted to sell us on a new and innovative approach to rpg romance. This is Bioware ♥♥♥♥!

Yeah Gale is broken atm, even if you barely talk to him.

My MC, a straight dude that's always been involved with only Lae'zel, has had multiple dialogues that show he thinks he slept with Gale or that Gale was somehow a romantic interest that he chose Lae'zel over.

He is necessity because of his casting capability and especially so if you're not playing wiz/sorc/warlock yourself (like I did).

Like his char, definitely want to befriend him, but his romance bug is concerning.

This is apparently a common issue with the game. Companions and/or dialogue tree thinking stuff happened that didn't. Both the male and female companions have this issue. Apparently the biggest offender is Gale from what I have seen. (People bringing it up out of the blue on the forums) A lot of those threads get locked because a certain crowd doesn't like constructive criticism.

He's broken atm, he was never in my main party and only in my camp. When you do stuff outside the camp he still approves/disapproves and his meter goes up super fast. At first I thought it's a gameplay feature and he is mentally connected to you but no, it must be bugged. He was the first one hitting on me. And it's weird that it goes from "Wanna see a little magic trick?" to "I ****** a goddess and now I want your sweet buns." .
