Am I the Ahole? I let Volo operate but on a companion. Is that evil?

So yea, I didnt want to change my eyes so I grabbed a companion and spoke to Volo, he opperated on them instead of me. It worked and now I can have the advantage without losing my own eye. Am I the Ahole?
