Just bought a SSD
Do I have to uninstall the game then reinstall it or can I just move it to my SSD?

Use USB to move files onto it and then move those files onto your SSD.

you can create a new steamlibrary under steam -> settings -> storage

then simply go to game properties and move the game to your other drive

It depends If your internet is faster than your old storage transfer speed.
Steam has a built in function to move your games to another drive, via the library management.

right click on game -> properties -> installed files -> Move this game's content to another folder or drive

Steam has a built in function to move games that you have installed without needing to reinstall them.

In Steam, go to settings, Then select the "Storage" tab. Select the drive on which you have installed BG3, then select it (and any other games you want to move) and select that you want to move it. That's all there is to it.

If you haven't already set up a steam library on the new SSD Drive, you do have to do that first. That is done in the same place with the little + symbol at the top where it lists all your existing drive locations.

Google how to move your steam folder if you are just adding a drive.

If you need to clone your boot drive there is free software for that. Check EASUS, which is what I used when I switched to SSD.

You need to create a steam library before you can move to it.

Set up a steam library on the drive first. Or are you saying it doesn't even detect the SSD when you click the + symbol to setup a new library?

if that's the case, did you remember to actually format the drive's file system in Windows first?
