What is the difference between Attitude and and approval?
Basically the title. I noticed the game wants to make a distinction when using the words "Attitude" like starting a fight when you shouldn't have and "approval" like saying something a companion agrees with.

I tried testing attitude by spamming actions that was constantly losing -5 attitude but approval had stayed the same and the stats seemed unchanged so what is attitude really?

Attitude is related to their hostility. It doesn't typically show it, but let's say you attack a spider..you'll get -40 (or whatever) attitude.

You can usually see this by quicksaving+quickloading.

I do not know the threshold, likely -100? Though once it is reached, the creature will no longer be 'temporarily hostile' to you.. Meaning it will still be hostile after you leave, long rest, and return

Attitude additionally relates to merchants and discounts. The higher their attitude towards you the lower their prices.
