Performance is a joke later in the game

I am in act 2, in the final encounter in the castle the performance becomes so bad when there are a lot of enemies on screen. For context I have a rtx2080ti and I9 9900K

Is it a performance issue or are enemies just plotting their actions during their turn? If enemies are moving off screen it might seem like it's frozen but it's not.

Wait for act 3, I have 15 - 20 FPS, hard to tell what will happen in final areas.

0 difference between act 1 , 2 and 3 for me but i have pretty high end hardware.. so maybe lower end hardware suffers more.

Act 1, 2, 3 all the same for me, no fps drop, 10700/32gb/3080. Your config should be able to handle this without any trouble. Tried updating nvidia driver? And for my part, DX11 seem more stable than vulkan.

When you say "Performance is a joke", whose performance are you talking about?
"The game's" performance? There is no such a thing bro. Not to be super technical: its your PC's performance. To be a bit more technical: its your Graphics card or CPU (or insufficient RAM capacity causing it to swap to disk).

Solution : lower your graphics settings to your graphics card's capacity.
How? Try lowering down the Texture quality a notch and see if that does it (at Medium should be fine).

You probably have a saved point there at Moonrise. Tinker with the settings till you get a good profile for your hardware.

I have stuttering and fps drops at any resolution and settings

it could be a memory leak bug. I noticed the same problem later in the game. Restarting it occasionally improved things. Also have the same basic setup.

Disagree. I Have 7700X, 32 GB Ram, Both SSDs M.2, 7900XTX and I get as low as 30 or 25 fps even in conversations with other characters. After Druid Groves demise, performance took a deep plunge. Mind you, all drivers are up to date. Also Running Vulkan if I try running DX11 then I have the same experience as people working with MS PowerPoint.

Yup definitely, some locations suffer from fps drops for no apparent reason, most notably Moonrise Towers and Last Light for me

I get the same in those two areas , something funky going on , running a 4090 and 7800X3d so not a spec issue. i did notice that it dosnt occur on vulcan though

Stuttering and performance-drops and I didn't even arrive at the city yet (where performance is supposed to take a total nosedive.)

Running from a SSD, turned everything to low in graphics options and a RTX 2060 should be enough imho. but it isn't!

Seems to be an unoptimized mess and I am so close to refunding it.

Your PC is bad.. got everytime, everywhere 117FPS (Capped) with DLSS Quality and my 4090 yawning with ~100W Power Consumption..
Everything on Ultra ofc on 4K.

I have to close out of the game at least once every couple of hours in Act 3, or my game just gets super choppy. Its a bit of an issue, but I do find that it helps with the stuttering.

I'm getting 50-60 fps in most places, dropping to 30 ish if I look over a large vista on my htpc using a 13400, a 3050 and 32GB of 3600 memor at max settings, 1440p with dlssset to quality.

Im expecting a pinned 120 fps at 4k no dlss once I've leak tested my new build tomorrow (13900k / 4090).

Seems like something is off with your system tbh.

no no no this game has reallly bad performance issue and theres no denying that
im getting 80+fps on ultra but at random cutscenes it stutters and dies
its okay to just say that this game has bad performance, it really is okay man we still love this game as much as you do.
