Ingots and Infernal Iron [Spoilers?]

Has anyone actually found a use for the various ingots (silver, bronze, gold etc)? It seems some people claim they can be used to enhance gear, but if so I've yet to find out how. Obviously they can be quite valuable but it seems everything is pointing to some sort of crafting.

On a related note, in Act III you can get Enriched Infernal Iron. I've tried taking it to Dammon but he seems completely uninterested. I already made everything he could make in Act II and patched up Karlach. Again, the presence of a higher-quality version of Infernal Iron seems to suggest you can do something with it besides sell it, but I've yet to find out what and I'm getting near done. Any ideas?

Ingots are to be sold, seems the enriched infernal iron too.

So, some guides say that a workbench is unlockable in Act 3 to upgrade gear using ingots but so far I don't know anyone who's seen it.

Don't think it exists, can just sell them.

from what I've seen they've sadly cut the crafting majorly (still in game but barely as it's mainly just combining like a spear head to a shaft or something like that). it also seems to be that infernal iron also lost some quest lines related to it so its basically just free cash after like act 2 as I haven't found a use for infernal iron or the enriched version yet after that point...... SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT ( yeah it seems like they cut the part of the story that'd see this enriched infernal iron see a use along with what seems to be the entirety of the avernus area. so its basiaclly just a holdover/ something to sell from killing the watchers I guess)

Infernal Iron can be used with Dammon, but that's all i'll say.
