There shouldn't be a way to ever have more than 4 spell slots of any level, even multiclassing spell casters. I'd be interested in knowing how you are getting more than 4 spell slots of a certain level.
Wait, What?
What's the point of using a sorcerer then?
There's several items in game that grant additional slots of certain levels.
There is an elixir that raises your Level 1 spell slots by 1 for a day.
I assume that's how to get over 4.
Idk but on my cleric (shadowheart) I have like 6 or 7 level 1 spell slots, 4 level 2, 3 level 3 and 2 level 4
This is plain wrong. There is shield you can buy in Last Light that provides an additional level one spell slot. In addition there are two elixirs that provide either an additional level one or level two slot.
Also that's the beauty of feats, magical items and spells. The let play outside the norm
Wizards get something kinda similar in arcane recovery, but sorcerers can recover more spell slots, can do it in combat and as a bonus action.
So they can still cast more spells than wizard potentially, or more get more powerful effects
