Why ai generated art looks so beatiful and in game characters (overall) look so ugly

So i just went to deviant art and view some ai generated art, they look so beatiful.
When start playing games, despite the fact that games have much more money invested in them, have uglier looking characters. This especially apparent in AAA games.
Another example are skyrim custom races, they look so beatiful, so smooth but when i look on games that were released in 2021-2023 their npc look uglier, why is that i wonder?
Is it on purpose?

That's not an accurate explanation of what it's doing...but the end result is the same.

Static art is a much different thing than dynamically generated 3d modeling. And if you use vanilla Skyrim with it's 1k textures it won't be nearly as impressive as the 8k that you can mod in these days. Also note vanilla Skyrim isn't available on Steam for several years now, only Special Edition, which is still only 2k textures. But Skyrim is also notable specifically for its graphics.

I saw some AI art recently of a woman with 3 belly buttons. Truly amazing times we live in.

So why i can make better looking characters in sse then in any recent games.
