Currently there isn't a way to turn it off in game. However there is a mod on the nexus.

But I was expecting actual consequences. Like gameplay wise. If my ugliness serves no purpose like people attacking me or people distrusting me because I a worm eater why bother.

The system is useless... At least mass effect commented on my ugliness

There is an achievement when you fully become one, you personally.

If you are asking about modding, it will disable all achievements

Yeah, I'm honestly a little upset that I can't actually play **AS** an illithid from the get go. It's what the Dark Urge should have been.

What you mean by Mass Effec? you really think that Baldurs Gate 3 is better then Mass effect? i think BG3 is great game but overhyped i also think even divinity original sin 2 is better then BG3

there is a mod called less veins or something that makes the veins still visible but a LOT less intrusive and actually kinda visually cool looking.

highly recommend.
