Is Act 3 really as bad as everyone says? Help....
So I have seen lots of spoilers etc and people complaining how bad Act 3 is story wise and companion wise. Now I am scared. I am pretty happy with Act 1 and 2 and I would love to play Act 3 now but I also do not want to get dissapointed. Should I wait till it gets fixed? Could be another year or two for Larian to bring out another edition to fix the endings and plot holes.
I would appreciate your opinion and thoughts.

It's pretty bad but i don't think its that bad companion wise. I'm also convinced the endings are either bugged or not even implemented so there's that.

Not in my experience. I took Astarion, Shadowheart and my Dark Urge main and all of them had satisfying fleshed out story conclusions and the main story and side content was fantastic. The plot does push you to rush through it which I would caution against. The city is really big and there is tons of interesting stuff around the place to discover. Take your time and enjoy it. That said bugs have affected some people (I had one journal bug but in the end it worked correctly), so waiting a few weeks wouldn't hurt if you're worried about that.

It's not bad. The game just starts to fold under it's own weight towards the end a bit. Nothing that can't be fixed with patches and definitive edition treatment that BG3 will undoubtedly get. DOS 1-2 final acts were a mess on release as well. So was it the case with Owlcat's Pathfinder games.

Act 3 just plays like the former acts with a little less fps. I have not found unfinished quests, but quite a few people on the internet who scream blue murder, not realizing that they have made errors - not using the skill to read is the usual candidate.

its literally unplayable for my friend, we had to put the game down to finish our campaign because the map doesnt load for him, so hopefully a patch comes soon, i have other games coming and THESE levels of bugs are totally unacceptable, but otherwise the game is good so this is a hard position for me to take

Act 3 is a lot busier NPC wise just with them being around so expect a performance hit.

Everyones had different experiences with it though. Some hate it, some like it.

Some have had bugged quests etc.

Personally I got through it fine. And enjoyed it. /shrug

But you're not allowed to be positive on this forums or say you enjoyed it.

My only issue with act 3 is that you hit the levelcap a bit early, making side quests a bit less appealing from that point on.

Yes

The people saying Act 3 is bad are the same that rush through the game or butcher every NPC so they dont have story follow ups or allies in the last act which then, is of course, quite short. I did a lot of side content in Act 1 and 2 and had like 35-40h in Act 3 with not so many bugs and not even one crash. I liked Act 3.

It's only as bad as you're willingness to play it. It's just as large if not larger than Act 1 and I've still got quite a bit left to do and explore.

People are just throwing around the buzzwords they picked up. Larian learned from DOS:2 and it really shows in BG3. The last Act is massive, but you can skip it all and beeline for the ending if you want.

It's all G except the bugs. It is indeed very buggy, some of which can be game breaking/stopping. I can't speak to the endings/last 20-30% of the act as I'm stuck due to a bug for now.

I'm in the same boat - thanks for making that thread =)

I'd hoped for something like that - thanks. So it's the same-old-same-old, people exaggerate & being very loud about it. Plus, potatoe computers.

it IS NOT the same old same old, i am uploading screenshots to prove this crap man, for some of us the game is broken HARD, im not trying to be mean its true

Interestingly I got 2 achievements for ending the game. The first Hero of the forgotten realms has 0.4% of players having achieved it. The second Alls well that ends well (complete the game) only has 0.1% of players. So somehow 0.3% of players have ended the game without completing it. I wonder if this is where some of the complaints are coming from. Like there is a way to skip the whole final battle, which does sort of fit with something that happens, which I won't go into for spoiler reasons.
