I *REALLY* dislike Karlach

Her while dialogue is extremely modernised, written as a mix of an empowered marvel character that can do no wrong and of an average redditor.

Her model is definitely an upgrade over the EA placeholder, but her inflated face and haircut remind me of an average American political activist Karen.

Her personality is extremely soft and friendly to such a degree it feels fake, constantly speaking about how she likes everyone and supports everyone, as if she doesn't have her own opinion and just repeats stuff after others in different words. This goes entirely against her premise - a wild barbarian that can literally burn everything around her with rage. She is supposed to be volatile with her character - everything suggests that - but she is just marvel-type chill all the time which, I repeat, feels fake and cringe.

Cutting her head off every playtrough from now on.

Yeah and i dont like how 'i am in the gray area, i have deep secrets, i am edgy and do what i want when i want, i am your usual tsundere so know your place' etc. ♥♥♥♥ going on with pretty much all of your other companions. Game actually needed a good guy/gal like her, though i can not say it couldn't been done better. I think game's weakest part is companions & their stories.

There's nothing wrong with Karlach or her character. She might not "hit" with you, or others like the TC, but that's going to be the case with any game that has characters in it. Some "hit" more than others for different people...

we had forums back then, mate ;) people hated Aerie much more than Jaheira for example.

Karlach is fine, Not my cup of tea, as she seems a bit...dense and overly enthusiastic, but to each their own.

it have nothing to do with her personality.

when Karlach talk you know the game dies a little each time.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought Karlach was a reddit or deviantart self-insert and hardly even a character. Atleast even with my bugged ending I got to see her explode to death.

Why pick Karlach anyway when Sharty exists.

Nah. Astarion actually fits and has development, also his VA does great job at the end of personal arc. I started out disliking him (for the reference I always killed him in EA and it was my 1st time accepting him into the party because I didn't want to play utility on Tactician) and yet I warmed up to him over time. We may not share values, but he makes an interesting companion. Can't say this about Karlach, she's frontloaded and you won't get anything new out of her past first dialogues.

Well, every companion isn't going to "hit" with everyone, and that's a good thing, I think. You're certainly free to kill her or anyone else whenever you want.

Karlach still is that raging barbarian, who can burn everything to the ground, but she can be a bit of a softie at the same time. She's finally around people she cares about, after being isolated, betrayed, and alone for 10 years while doing the work of a devil.

I enjoyed what I've seen from her so far, but I enjoy all the companions I've chosen to use / spent time with.

you have Tanar'ri "your typical Psycho types, and Baatezu (your contract types "nice guys")
she do not belong to both groups because how she is.
she do not belong in the game, how she current is.

This specific part is lore heavy, and it's not explained in game.
Basically there are devils (order) and demons (chaos).
9 hells are ruled by devils.
Devils contracted the heaven to fight demons, to "hold off the threat", and it's an eternal war.
Karlach fought on the side of devils.
There is some 4e lore that nobody cares about explaining why exactly living people are involved in the war now, something with a city falling down into the 1st layer if hell.

And yes, all those dramatic life changing events and karlach acts like she just got off browsing tumblr.
