BG3, personally I noticed this only is some of written pieces but in dialogs and voiced animated scenes, plagues and etc, not so much.
But if you are at beginning of the game, don't bother trying to understand the heart of the plot.
Really, it's not until Act2 endgame when you have all pieces together to make the sense of the whole mystery surrounding the entry setup (unless you spoil yourself online). Just play it and it will come together, even if you don't understand 50% of what's being said
