Do you really need to use cloud saves?
It has it downsides. I killed my Deep Rock Galactic save. That hurt.
Ouch.
I have my Steam Cloud off for games which create large savegames. For such like Deep Rock Galactic or Monster Hunter where I care about the save game a lot I make manual backups. I do not trust Steam Cloud Services enough not to expect it to botch my save games in a failed synchronisation.
Unless you NEED cloud saves because you play the game on more than one device, turn that **** off.
Personally, my advice is that even if you do need cloud saves, don't use the game's built in cloud save functionality. Set it up with a reliable, dedicated cloud service outside of the game. You're much less likely to have a cloud issue with a service for which cloud syncing is their primary business.
