why does getting knocked prone end your turn?
like this isn't a d&d thing, you should be able to get back up but instead it just ends your turn immediately and it's super frustrating

Maybe they should put incapacitated state instead of prone.

in dos2 it made you skip your next turn as well so there's that :P

i used to make everything prone and have a free turn, dosnt work here they just take their next turn like nothing happened.

If you are caught in ice or a grease spell. Just jump.

Standing from prone costs a lot of movement. However it appears there can be a bug with prone as NPCs ignore it and keep going whereas player-controlled characters instantly end their turns.

It might be because of the act of being prone *as a player* removes your ability to do any actions so the game seems to force-end the turn based on that.

This. Easy to knock enemies prone and see them just get up and keep going but any time I've had a PC go prone it's basically a stun.

If an NPC gets proned on their turn they definitely lose all their actions. I've seen it happen repeatedly to enemies trying to get past grease or ice surfaces. (thankfully they aren't usually smart enough to jump.) It's possible if they have some sort of stun immunity or free movement action, they can keep going using those, though I haven't seen that.
