Best class for an evil warrior with a bit of magic?
I'm back to my old RPG shenanigans - Haven't finished the game yet with my monk / rogue ninja boi (although I do love the game and this character) and already I'm thinking about my next campaign! :D

Now, I'm actually thinking of re-creating a character concept that I have used in several video game RPG:s. He originates from Pillars of Eternity, where he was a Bleak Walker paladin, and a Pale Elf. A merciless warlord with some magical elements, falling into the lawful evil alignment in the roleplaying point of view: kinda like a sith lord. Usually handles a great sword.

So in BG3 the race will be Drow and I will be taking the Dark Urge -origin. But what about the class? Going oath breaker Paladin would of course be one, but not sure about that. Arcane knight also fits, but I'm not sure about that either! Tips and suggestions, possible multiclassing tips would be much appreciated!

Shadow monk for a ninja feel. Eldritch knight fighter is pretty much a warrior mage.
You can go paladin and break your oath to get the oathbreak paladin hidden class. It's pretty much the blackguard from older dnd editions.

Then there is the warlock pact of the blade and great old ones pact. Cthulhu warrior style.

Eldritch Knight seems the closest.

I used paladin with a few points into warlock for that, solid and you have a ranged push cantrip to boot if needed!

You can go a long way not breaking the oath of vengeance as a paladin since there is always a greater evil …

Especially if you let other party members do conversations that are too explicitly evil / oath breakery.

Oh is that what it does? I was wondering what my reward was I didn't even notice lol

just be a dwarf warlock, pact of blade. dwarf should give you armor proficiency and pact of blade for charisma to hit.

Yeah, this is my current character! Put 3 levels to Rogue to get to Assassin subclass too. Works nicely!

Just about anything can fit that bill outside of Druids. Sorcerer/Wizard would be the more interesting choices. Choose the armor feats so you can wear some of the cool necro-esque armor. Get a lot of crowd control abilities, the stuff that's more manipulative and malicious. It'd be pretty cool to try out. It'd be like the shadow knight working their dark magic from the shadows type of deal.

There's even lots of lightning magic you could incorporate and the ability to fly which technically all Jedi/sith should be able to do if the force truly is everywhere.

Is this an evil choice? another one was to remove the parasite? And I can't recall the third one.

Should reload my save and try again. I suspect removing the parasite will end the game.

The options I remember
after you tell leazel to take a seat (that's what I did cuz it's her quest) or you take a seat I imagine. I just let the process happen then one that last dialog you get a choice to "absorb the machines power" this is a wisdom check of 30 though. The other options are just let it happen, and comfort leazel, or disrupt the process from what I remember. The comfort option probably not there if it's you in the chair haha

And that's it... lol feels weird having a full spoiler message xD

I didn't have Lae'zel, so it was my main character who used the machine. The only option I selected the entire time was to continue the operation, which required a number of skill checks eventually leading to the parasite destroying the machine and itself growing stronger. This is what enables using Illithid powers as bonus actions. Very OP and I haven't observed any downsides.

Edit: my character fanatically wanted the parasite removed, so I also had Volo do brain surgery which eventually lead to my character losing his eye, which was then replaced with a fake one that had permanent see invisible. So it's not all bad trying anything and everything to remove the parasite, two neat new abilities!

Lemme check real quick if mine did cuz I did something but I pay so little attention to how my power changed, and I was only lvl 3 at the time so I was in a rough spot after that, honestly wyll has bin the main factor to my teams lower lvl excursion survival for quite awhile lol
so it looks like I did unlock them as a bonus action via my method, but I'm realizing now that I have no powers I use lol I took the more passive side with charm, favorable beginnings and luck of the for realms but I have it listed as "awakened"
I also let him take my eye, cuz I was dark urge on that playthru I felt it was very in character lol which is better then when i let the hag take my rangers eye xD
