Any benefit to max approval rating with a party member?

I'm very close to maxing out approval with gale & astarion, but does anyone know if this gives you does anything additional (providing new dialogue, scenes, etc.)?

Nope nothing specific for hitting max.

Companions even from the start of EA were lackluster, who knew in 4 years of the games development the Larian team couldn't write a half decent companions system or stories.

Aw that's a bit of a bummer :/ I wasn't able to hit max with anyone on my first playthrough so I was hoping you'd get some new information or dialogue at least. With how hard it can be to hit max with some party members I hope it's something they maybe add later

I think most of them are really cool as you learn more about them!

Cant prove it but I feel like persuasion checks on them are easier.
