Really? Why does life make me suffer so....
Oh well, I guess loverslab will cover me up eventually, like always.
What would have been more interesting if her secret was that she was really a man.
Nah i hear she is cut content cause she had more content in ea or so i hear
I was more so imagining stuff like fanboyism or political affiliation or religion for 'cult like' behavior in our 'real world.' Not necessarily murder extremes.
She would have no problems sacrificing a child if Shar wills it.
Really? Then it come down to your choices and actions as the player.
She doesn't know the purpose of delivering the artifact because her memory have been carefully erased, keeping only the necessary parts.
Same reasons as above, she doesn't aspire to be anything else because she doesn't know better.
She blindly follows that because she has nothing else, no alternative to live on.
They ARE weird, but for them these practises are sacred and reverred. If you are growing up thinking it's an honor, then it's normal to act that way. It's a bit like seeing the Ramadan from an exterior point of view, one would think "what is the purpose of starving yourself?" while it's perfectly normal for the practitioners.
She is changing her mind because the player showed her better, she gained an alternative beside Shar but also truth, that she may have been abducted. She had doubts and it kept getting bigger and bigger. But one as faithfull do not abandon everything that easily, 30 was quite a check to pass despite all the laid out facts.
She gets angry if you insult Shar because it has been her whole life (the one she can remember), insulting Shar is the same as insulting her.
The last part I assume is a personality. I am kinda glad they are not all nice and heroic.
I get your points and as far as 'Ramadan,' I personally dont question beliefs of that sort. I understand stuff like that in religion or in cultures, but to the point of sacrificing and hurting others to that extreme is what makes it wild to me.
Are there examples of these types of religions in the world, for sure there are.
As an above person mentioned above and you yourself describe, it is hard to see other points of view after being indoctrinated.
I can see why people would empathize with Shadowheart in this situation and its changed my mind, that being said because very little is known about why she lost her memory or why she is doing what she is doing up until act 2, its hard to come to a full understanding of her world.
When all you see is the weird stuff happening in the Shar religion, and barely any explanation as to why Shadowheart is following that path, its hard to empathize with her.
I get that shes indoctrinated, but it takes clearer discussions like this to realize, 'oh wait, thats really happening in a video game too.'
If the game didn't keep forcing you to include her like the world's most annoying little sister, she'd be dead in a ditch and no one would ask any questions.
