Shadowheart honestly kinda lame.
Not really trying to disa on anyone:s preferred waifu, but I don't get why so many people like her? She is not as attractive as minthara for me, I know some of you guys going to say she is better written but mintheta is more interesting. your first date out with her is comitt war crime how romantic is thar? Fell in love instantly for me 10 out 10. I mean I do wish she has more focused but nothing beat that romantic first date.

She is a big titty goth/emo gf and that is OK by most standards, although I also prefer Minthara, but getting her usually means losing Karlach unless you go neutral in chapter 1 so, not being able to get the dark elf she is a fine substitute.

She does not have her full character arc, hell they cut out the fact that she's pregnant during the game entirely. Quit trolling.
Really? Why does life make me suffer so....

Oh well, I guess loverslab will cover me up eventually, like always.

I find it slightly annoying how she keeps on bragging how she worships shag. She thinks she is something special. Obviously not took much notice of her companions history. She is insignificant in comparison.
What would have been more interesting if her secret was that she was really a man.

You can't get mad at a character that tell you, you shouldn't put your fist into any hole you find... -)

Minthara is cut content though, so Shadowheart wins by virtue of having been finished.
She's not cut. She's added last minute content, which is why she's unfinished.

Nah i hear she is cut content cause she had more content in ea or so i hear

They are, and they are still lame in the real world. Whats your point.

Brain washing, intdoctrination, (whatever term), it is a thing. So claim a character is lame because they follow beliefs and orders that been imprinted on them is rather silly right? Imagine someone did hypnotize you to go kill someone and then call you lame afterwards for do it?

There is a lot of dialogue options you can get over on her in the game.
I agree wtih your point. It's hard to break that indoctrination. I sympathize with that.

I was more so imagining stuff like fanboyism or political affiliation or religion for 'cult like' behavior in our 'real world.' Not necessarily murder extremes.

She doesnt ask me to wipe out entire colony for one. And shes kinda like that cute goth girl, I think she's attractive, at least if she existed in real life, 99.9% 9f us here wouldnt be able to score with her. Minthara is seriously unstable and has mental problems. Shadowheart is just a little lost and needs to find her way.

Her devotion to Lady Shar is actually quite disturbing, and I suspect most people don't realize this until Act 3.

She would have no problems sacrificing a child if Shar wills it.

Really? Then it come down to your choices and actions as the player.

But karlah is giga boring tho. like i have her cuz in one of my play trough with my friends, she absolutely love karlach, but for me, i got cringed up on how she acted after we killed those fake paladins. where she start to light the area on fire, which btw almost killed the MC since that fight took a lot of damge.

She is kind of lame.

She wants to follow Shar, but doesn't even know why her purpose of delivering the artefact is.

She says she loses her memory, but one of the only thing she remembers is that she wants to be a Dark Justiciar.

How do you blindly follow something, that you have no idea of why you are doing it.

Not to mention Shar worshippers are weird af. They cut/mutilate and torture themselves to free themselves of 'the light' in service of their goddess shar.

She then quickly changes her life goal path in Act 2, when you ask her nicely not to do it, EVEN THOUGH this is her life's calling.

She gets manipulated, brainwashed and whenever you try to tell her that her goddess maybe wrong, she gets mad.

Shadowheart is only nice to you, when you let her have her way. Bad character.

That said, still trying to romance her. Because between an equally mad orc lady and her, choice is few and far between.

She doesn't know the purpose of delivering the artifact because her memory have been carefully erased, keeping only the necessary parts.

Same reasons as above, she doesn't aspire to be anything else because she doesn't know better.

She blindly follows that because she has nothing else, no alternative to live on.

They ARE weird, but for them these practises are sacred and reverred. If you are growing up thinking it's an honor, then it's normal to act that way. It's a bit like seeing the Ramadan from an exterior point of view, one would think "what is the purpose of starving yourself?" while it's perfectly normal for the practitioners.

She is changing her mind because the player showed her better, she gained an alternative beside Shar but also truth, that she may have been abducted. She had doubts and it kept getting bigger and bigger. But one as faithfull do not abandon everything that easily, 30 was quite a check to pass despite all the laid out facts.

She gets angry if you insult Shar because it has been her whole life (the one she can remember), insulting Shar is the same as insulting her.

The last part I assume is a personality. I am kinda glad they are not all nice and heroic.

asking to help wipe out entire colony of snobbish xenophobic druids is very romantic what you talking about! if those druids didn't agree with kagha they should have revolted, viva la revolutioned her ass!! plus the Goblins are incredibly wholesome actually! they remind me of ORKS in warhammer 40k.
TheDeadlyShoe Aug 13, 2023 @ 11:19pm
If you detect thoughts on Kagha she actually has mixed feelings. But in public she's a hardliner anyway. Honestly, that makes her worse.

I didn't have to pass any checks personally, so it is what it is for that part. I just asked her and she threw her spear away. It was probably because my bond/relationship with her was close.

I get your points and as far as 'Ramadan,' I personally dont question beliefs of that sort. I understand stuff like that in religion or in cultures, but to the point of sacrificing and hurting others to that extreme is what makes it wild to me.

Are there examples of these types of religions in the world, for sure there are.

As an above person mentioned above and you yourself describe, it is hard to see other points of view after being indoctrinated.

I can see why people would empathize with Shadowheart in this situation and its changed my mind, that being said because very little is known about why she lost her memory or why she is doing what she is doing up until act 2, its hard to come to a full understanding of her world.

When all you see is the weird stuff happening in the Shar religion, and barely any explanation as to why Shadowheart is following that path, its hard to empathize with her.

I get that shes indoctrinated, but it takes clearer discussions like this to realize, 'oh wait, thats really happening in a video game too.'

Shadowheart leaves me with the distinct impression that everyone at camp has learned to live with her insufferable melodrama as background noise.

If the game didn't keep forcing you to include her like the world's most annoying little sister, she'd be dead in a ditch and no one would ask any questions.
