Genius!! Why didn't I think of that... oh wait, they just arrest you again next time you run into them after the debuff wears off.
When I went to jail there I jumped out the window, waited 16 turns for the wanted debuff to go away, then I could walk around and do whatever I wanted and get my gear out of the chest, they shouldnt try to arrest you again as long as you wait for the wanted debuff to fall off.
Probably couldn't fix it and either stopped playing or reloaded a save and just kept going. I'm having to re-do all of the assault on Moonrise because a harper got caught in an acid flask aoe and sent me to prison the moment the combat ended. Killing the "prisoner" character doesn't fix it, neither does downing it then healing him. Can't send him back to camp, doesn't have any dialogue. Attacking harpers *after* the fight with Ketheric gives "violence between prisoners isn't allowed" dialogue, but no choice to go back to jail, just fight to death. Going to moonrise prison doesn't fix it, "escaping" from moonrise prison through other means doesn't fix it, and game won't let the character fast travel either. They also can't continue to the Road to Baldur's Gate. There's no debuff that says they're a prisoner, and long resting doesn't fix it either.
So i have to re-do the assault on moonrise towers, the mindflayer colony, the fight with ketheric, and all the dialogue after.
All because Larian has never once been able to code a proper prisoner/crime system (guards are more psychic than oblivion's guards). The only saving grace is that I'm level 10, and all of those fights were easy. But now I'm just gonna AOE everything to death.
