LOVED DragonLance
Tasslehoff was a Thief Rogue, Riverwind Barbarian and Goldmoon Life Domain cleric.
Flint and Caramon were Both Fighters
(Flint Battlemaster and Caramon Champion I would Imagine)
Tika was fighter/thief combo. Laurana and Gilthanas were both fighter/wizard combos.
Verminaard was, I would Imagine, A war cleric of Tiamat.
Lord Soth is the Ultimate Oathbreaker Pally
If you're so familiar with these characters and playing them in a Dragonlance campaign, then you should be fine with understanding how to make them in the game. How you make them look visually may be more of a challenge (like Raist isnt going to get those lovely hourglass eyes), but mostly the rest should be easy enough.
Just remember those characters too come from 2nd Edition Dragonlance modified dnd and we're in the era of 5th Edition dnd so there are lots of differences between the two. So as long as you dont hyper focus too much you should be fine.
Sturm wasnt a paladin though he was more 2nd edition chavalier or fighter (in DL subset of dnd Knight of the Crown was its own class) really though again rules for 5e and 2nd ed dnd modified for dragonlance are really different though there is a Order/Knight of the crown for 5e dragonlance play too. He never had any clerical/casting spells.
Closest then would be battlemaster subclass fighter but thats really a stretch since again, he didnt really show much in the way of actions outside of a champion gen pop fighter imo.
Awesome insight. Thank you
Good points. I do recall the knights having cleric spells in the gold box dragonlance games from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Perhaps Sturm didn’t ever get that far in the knighthood to level up to that.
Thx for the insights. Wouldn’t say I was “so familiar” though as it’s been like 30 years :-)
Didn’t know if the skill points for these characters had been converted to these rule sheets. Haven’t found them via google.
