Does Anyone Else Have Issues With Attack Rolls on Normal?
So, I'm playing co-op with hubby. I'm a Druid, he's a Paladin.
We have noticed a weird pattern about his character - since the last patch, his character's attack rolls succeed less than 20% of the time. He misses almost every attack in combat. Regardless if it is ranged or melee attacks. We are playing on Normal difficulty with enemies succeeding to hit 80-90% of the time.

Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed something weird like this?

haven't noticed that myself. do you use the right weapons for your stat? i.e. ranged on DEX characters and stuff like heavy weapons or longswords on STR characters?

If they hit you a lot, It could be your AC is too low.

Hard to say without any stats to go on.
Do you have karmic dice enabled?

Could just be karmic dice if it's on.

Use buffs. Pay attention to what your attacks target. Pay attention to enemy stats/saving throws/ac/buffs.

Turn of karmic dice, it's a massive troll option. It just averages out everything in a very unexplained way, meaning low AC, high AC, low AB, high AB - it'll do strange magic with the dice in an attempt to "balance" it out. I has some very questionable effects such as allowing your enemies to reliably hit your high AC tank.

By chance did he take the great weapon master feat? GWM apply -5 to hit which translate to 25% less

You can toggle it off/on under passive (i personally add the toggle to mu ability tool bar)

There's a ton of reasons why attack rolls could be poor with this game due to mechanics with DnD. We can't really answer the question well without knowing those various things, so the only thing I can suggest is for them to test out things or undo whatever change they recently did and see if that improves it.

His AC is 18, he puts it up to 20 with buffs.
Problem is, almost all of his attacks fail. We just now fought redcaps, of all attacks he cast, only one landed a hit. It's really weird.
As for stats vs weapons, they match his proficiencies and stats.

Another issue can be is he proficient to the weapon he use.

You can buff to hit with bless. As story progress the enemy may have higher AC so using weapon you are not proficient with will slowly get weaker

WE turned ours off. Hopefully that'll help fix the issue. Thanks!

Btw you can hover to your inventory to see the +Hit and see what modifier he got

Karmic dice is enabled by default and it smooths out the "randomness" by gravitating both your characters and the enemy characters to a 50% success rate on average. If you loose too many times in a row karmic dice will kick in and give you a win. If you win too many times karmic dice will kick in and give you a loss.

Turn it off because later into the game when you get your stats up you'll have high % to land attacks and Karmic Dice will force you to lose on attacks more often than you should.

For me I noticed early on that I would miss A LOT this was because I was around 1 level lower than most enemies which impacts you 90% to hit and dice rolls a lot. When I got to L4 I used the two bonus ability points to pump into my characters main attribute/ability stat.

It's also important to use weapons that your character has the highest attribute with. i.e. if you have high Strength use Strength weapons and if you have high Dex use dex/finesse weapons. Basically: If you roll a fighter don't use daggers, use longswords or 2h swords. If you're a rogue use daggers as they're finesse weapons that benefit from Dex.
