If you have an IT friend, I highly suggest you get him/her over to check it out. I'd start with checking the PSU (power supply unit) as overheating does not seem to be the issue (you can play random amount of times).
1. alt-tab to something other than the game,
2. press Winkey+Alt+B to toggle HDR,
3. wait for your screen to get fixed,
4. press Winkey+Alt+B again to toggle HDR,
5. alt-tab back to the game
Hope this helps
The game has HDR issues which appear to have only started on launch. Probably bugs resulting from adding HDR to Vulkan just for launch and exacerbated if you change the game's HDR calibration away from default
So I've been tracking my temps and the hottest it gets is during character creation where its around 80. Combat is around 50, dialogue is somewhere in between. I don't think its fair to say its an overheating issue when people have tried lowering graphic settings and get the same issue. Of course its using a lot of the GPU but our GPUs are built to handle that.
Oh be quiet, if there was a "huge" amount there wouldn't be overwhelmingly positive reviews. Cry more
Maybe use DDU and do a full fresh install of your drivers.
I'm using a I7 6700k with a RTX 3700 16bg RAM , all overclocked and running fine with the latest drivers. I average from 110fps to 240 ( capped ) with DLSS on 1080p Ultra
