Missing shipment - No crossbow

I rescued Rugan, got the password, when to the cave, killed Rugan when Zarys asked. Now she is telling me to take it to Baulders Gate.

I though there should be an option to give it to her and get a crossbow. What have i done wrong?

I did not and nobody of the guys that protected the chest survived. I had not even the option to take the chest with me.

Rugan body should have a hand crossbow as loot.

I rescued the fellas, then stole the chest. Zarys only ordered me to bring it to BG, no option to give it to her, and no crossbow reward.

Same. Looks like you only get the cross bow if they are killed during the gnoll fight.

You get the Harold Crossbow as reward. But you can buy / steal Giantbreaker Crossbow from Brems new inventory after you did the quest.

IF you first go to Zhentarim and get the quest to saveCugan first before you meat him you get both. Harod bane crossbow as a quest reward and the second Giantbreaker you can buy i mean steal... This basic way you never get asked to kill rugan and you never get to touch the chest at all.

And as side note, you can steal all sorts of weapon by using drop command spell...
