Do clerics get smite?

I noticed that Shadowheart doesn't seem to have it (unless I'm not seeing it) - I thought smite was a cleric thing. No?

No, they are clerics. Smites are a unique ability to paladins. Paladins are only partial spellcasters and use their spell slots to smite. Clerics are genuine spellcasters and get a ton more spells to use, so smiting would hurt their spell usage.

Technically you could multiclass it in, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Yep, paladin get that, not cleric. Karlach has smite as class skills though...

That's her race, not her class.
That or a unique piece of equipment or something, but it's not something a Barb gets.

No but dont they get erm...divine fighting or sumthin? that adds a 1d8 radiant to all melee strikes?

My Shadowheart has a smite. Probably from an item I think

Zariel Tieflings get searing smite, though it doesn't use spell slots and is per rest (can't remember if short or long)
