leveling up gale?

anyone else had an issue leveling up gale? in my case, i can't level him up from lvl 7 to 8. it brings me to the level up screen, i choose the two new spells and a new feat but it keeps saying 'choices pending' and wont let me accept and complete it. i've tried moving around spells and freeing prepared slots but can't seem to get it to work.

i know people are saying the wizards are bugged but I wanted to know if I'm missing something obvious here.

I haven't had any problem. Have you looked to make sure you didn't miss another feat or something?

yeah, i've been trying to play with the choices a few times now. two new spells and one feat to choose for this level up. even reloaded old saves, tried to level him up again and still the same issue at level 8. even went down the whole row of feats and clicked each one and still nothing.

I have the same problem on my bard, going from lev 9 to 10, looked at everything just cant figure it out.. leveled all the other caracters fine.

at this point I'm not sure what the problem could even be. even started a new save just to see if it would work and hes just stuck at level 7. I want to keep him in my party but he's just becoming a drag to have around being so much weaker than everyone else.

this happens if you learn too many spells from scrolls, at levels where you choose new spells, if you already know everything you can't pick anything and get stuck at "choices pending"

Don't your Gale already know ALL 1st-4th level spells so he's stuck on new spell choice ?
Try multiclassing him ^^

Check if he does not get extra skill proficiency or something on the first screen.
It's easy to miss that one and you need to choose to lvl up.

You learned a bunch of spells with gold from scrolls? You can soft lock the game if you learn too many. It wants to teach you a spell you already learned, but it doesn’t know how to.

ON a bard it is definitely skill or expertise choise that you need to make, had same issue it's easy to miss that one.

but even when I started a new save file doing literally nothing extra but combat and leveling up using the spells from each level without scrolls it was giving me the same issue. and it's only been a problem with Gale specifically, all of the other characters are leveling up just fine which is why im so confused about it
