Always Prepared Spell From Feat

When Gale turned level 3 or 4 I had the chance to choose a spell that is always prepared, the drawback is that it seems limited. What I mean is the spell that appears next to the Infinity symbol when you open the window to prepare spells. In the description it says this is a different version of the regular spell and you still have access to the other, but you don't. Is that intended or is it a bug?

I have the same issue with Shocking Grasp. The descriptions of the cantrips are the same, but the level up window says:

"You already know this spell. This spell is a different version of one you already know. You will have access to both."

Nothing on the level up age looks different from the spell I already have.

I guess the difference is in the "Always Prepared" trait

did you ever fix this issue? i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my hireling goodberry druid by giving him the long rest (feat) one instead of spell slot one
