Worth noting, don't always rely on it going red - if you help someone butcher a few enemies and it says it's stealing, the person you helped most likely will ignore it.
This is a fantasy game - according to that logic you wouldnt be able to loot anything ... And obviously the game doesnt consider looting after a fight stealing normally.
As can example, looting bodies from faction A might be a crime, but looting faction B might be fine. Obviously, your friends would not want you looting their friends.
group A=me
group B=flaming fist
group C=assassins
group A walked into an ambush laid by group C, group B intercepted when they heard the noice and aided group A in the fight. when the fight was over a few from group B laid on the ground, group A was unable to loot them without stealing, fair enough. every corpse of group C however was different. there were 6 of them in total, 2 of them were counted as stealing because group B got the killing blow on those enemies.
tbh it would not surprise me if its a bug, there seems to be alot of small ones in SP. wasnt hard to loot the bodies but thats how it went down
